The New Digital SAT (debuted in March, 2024)

No more scantron forms for today's Digital SAT students. The new Digital SAT is administered via the Blue Book app and features a shorter exam
The length has been shortened to a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes
There are two sections for a total score maximum of 1600
• Section 1: Reading and Writing (64 minutes) and
• Section 2: Math (70 minutes)
The digital SAT features an adaptive format:
Each section is divided into two timed stages (called modules). The questions become easier or more challenging in the second module, based on student performance on the first. If a student does well on the first series of questions, the test questions present more difficult concepts (and vice versa) for the second series. The test is adaptive by section, not by question.

The Reading/ English sections:
The reading and English sections have been combined. And, gone are the long passages followed by a series of questions. The new SAT features shorter texts with only one question. But, these reading passages are rich with both complex sentences and robust vocabulary and are often about obscure topics.

The Math sections:
Students everywhere are cheering: the 'no calculator' section is gone! The new digital SAT math also features less questions and provides more time per question. The questions are still heavy on algebra and pre-calculus topics with less emphasis on geometry and trig.
•Reference formulas will continue to be provided
•Students can use their own calculator or the Desmos graphing calculator built into the application
